Central Laboratory Facilities at Tehran Campus
  • Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM): This high-precision device is used for identifying and analyzing materials at micro- and nanoscales, allowing examination of chemical composition, structure, and surface properties.
  • Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS): Designed for analyzing volatile and semi-volatile organic compounds, with applications in environmental chemistry, food industries, and pharmaceuticals.
  • Ion Chromatography (IC): Ideal for separating and analyzing mineral anions and cations as well as polar compounds.
  • Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS): Provides accurate detection and quantification of heavy elements, including barium, cobalt, iron, and nickel.
  • Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS): Measures particle sizes from nanometers to micrometers and analyzes zeta potential and molecular weight.
  • Atomic Force Microscope (AFM): Used for 3D imaging and topographic analysis of surfaces at the nanoscale, widely applicable in nanotechnology and materials science.

  • Micro-CT Scanner: A high-resolution 3D imaging system used for studying internal microstructures in materials, with applications in medical research, materials science, and food industry studies.
 
  • ELISA Reader: Essential for detecting and quantifying antibodies and antigens in biological samples, widely used in immunology and serology.
  • Freeze Dryer: Removes water from temperature-sensitive samples, an essential tool in food and pharmaceutical research.

Specialized Laboratories and Workshops at Kharazmi University

Kharazmi University provides a comprehensive network of specialized laboratories and workshops across various faculties, creating an ideal environment for education and research in scientific and technical fields. These facilities are dedicated to a wide range of specializations, including Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Biological Sciences, Earth Sciences, Chemistry, and Physics. They enable students and researchers to work with advanced equipment and develop practical skills.
  • Faculty of Earth Sciences: Equipped with devices like the Inductively Coupled Plasma Spectrometer (ICP) for element identification and concentration analysis, thin section preparation equipment for microscopic studies of rocks, and multi-parameter and photometer devices for precise pH and electrical conductivity (EC) measurements.
 
  • Faculty of Biological Sciences: Featuring specialized equipment such as the Microfuge for high-speed sample centrifugation, Hot Block for precise thermal experiments, Rotator for sample mixing, Spectrophotometer for measuring light absorption and emission, Centrifuge for particle separation, and Spectrofluorimeter for fluorescence and bioluminescence testing in biology and microbiology fields.
 
  • Faculty of Chemistry: This faculty’s laboratories house modern instruments like ICP-OES for quantitative and qualitative analysis of heavy metals, CHN Analyzer for determining carbon, nitrogen, and hydrogen content, NMR for studying the molecular structure of organic compounds, and FT-IR for identifying functional groups and analyzing chemical compounds.
 
  • Faculty of Physics: Equipped with advanced tools, including the Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM) for studying magnetic properties of materials, Sputtering system for depositing or removing nanometric thin layers, and PECVD for thin-film deposition with plasma support, mainly used in optics and electronics research.
  • Faculty of Engineering: This faculty offers a wide range of specialized laboratories and workshops supporting Mechanical, Civil, Industrial, Electrical, and Computer Engineering programs. These include laboratories for Machine Dynamics and Vibrations, Strength of Materials, Fluid and Solid Mechanics, Hydraulics, Machine Vision, Data Mining, Systems and Control, and workshops for Machine Tools, Welding, and Auto Mechanics.
