In line with Kharazmi University's commitment to expanding international academic engagement and research collaboration, two faculty members recently undertook scholarly missions at prestigious international institutions.
Dr. Farzaneh Sasanpour, Professor of Human Geography at the Faculty of Geographical Sciences, conducted a research stay at the University of British Columbia (UBC), Canada, from August to December 2025. Her research focused on emerging themes in smart urban governance, the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence, digital platforms, and future city development. During her stay, she also participated in academic discussions and collaborative exchanges with international scholars, opening new avenues for future research partnerships.
In a separate academic mission, Dr. Fatemeh Parchakani, Associate Professor of Arabic Language and Literature, spent six months at the National Institute for Oriental Languages and Civilizations (INALCO) in Paris beginning in October 2025. Her visit centered on a research project entitled “Dramatizing Poetry as Social Discourse in Contemporary Arabic Poetry.” In addition to conducting research, she delivered specialized courses on the history of translation in West Asia and the Mediterranean, as well as Eastern and Iranian theatre, for undergraduate and graduate students.
These international engagements contribute significantly to strengthening Kharazmi University's research and educational capacities, fostering global academic networks, and enhancing the university's international visibility.
